ECRMC Takes InfoWorld 100 Honor

El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC) in California has been honored with an InfoWorld 100 award for its deployment of an Aerohive wireless LAN to support a wide range of applications, including mission-critical systems in the emergency room and operating rooms, the hospital information system (HIS), and quality review management software.

Application Upgrade to Bolster Trapeze Medical Program

Pleasanton, Calif.-based Trapeze Networks has unveiled new wireless condition monitoring capabilities for its ActiveAsset asset tracking and management application. ActiveAsset is an key part of the Trapeze Medical program. Now, in addition to being able to track and manage equipment, personnel and patients, the application helps meet regulatory requirements for monitoring temperature fluctuations of medical refrigeration and freezer units.

Bluesocket Rolls Out 'Virtual' WLAN

Burlington, Mass.-based Bluesocket is targeting healthcare and other key markets with the release of its new Virtual WLAN offering. The provider of enterprise mobility solutions designed the vWLAN to leverage existing network infrastructures to deliver a fully integrated and optimized wireless solution that will reduce the cost of deploying and operating large-scale Wi-Fi networks while, at the same time, boosting performance.

'Robust' pipeline has Aruba eyeing 20 percent market share

Having recently won nearly every deal in which it competed against Cisco--and, in some cases, Motorola--Aruba Networks is targeting more than 20 percent of the WLAN market over the next 12 to 24 months.  Aruba, which gets more than 20 percent of its revenue from non-traditional enterprises such as healthcare and education, is betting on the 802.11n standard, which is expected to be a key revenue driver for the company.

Trapeze offering supports locating, tracking 802.11n clients

Trapeze Networks has rolled out its new Trapeze LA-200E Location Appliance, a system that’s designed to locate and track anything  broadcasting a Wi-Fi signal. The LA-200E is touted as the first product that supports locating and tracking 802.11n clients. It works with Wi-Fi equipment from a number of WLAN infrastructure providers, along withTrapeze Networks NonStop Wireless infrastructure.
