Panasonic Toughbook – a line of ruggedized laptops and tablets perfect for healthcare

We are glad to be a part of the HealthcareGoesMobile.com community and hope we can provide members of the community with some of the insights we’ve gained in working with healthcare providers. Our  goal is to help improve workflow and ease workloads for doctors and nurses, allowing them to access patient records at the point of care and document patients’ conditions in real time.

Fifteen years of mobile PC experience and 10+ years of experience integrating wireless WAN/Mobile broadband might be enough to convince many people that Panasonic Toughbook® laptops are one of the best mobile PC solutions. But, when you are working in the world of mobile healthcare, you need more than mobility – you need rugged, mobile computing solutions focused on durability and reliability. In healthcare, rugged, reliable and wireless don’t just save money - they save time, improve data accuracy, reduce paperwork and improve productivity. Panasonic realizes that healthcare workers need devices that are specifically built to meet the unique requirements of patient care.

The new Panasonic Toughbook H1 MCA device, based on the Intel® mobile clinical assistant platform, is designed for use in “real” clinical environments. We talked to clinicians around the world to find out what they wanted and needed in a mobile device. The H1 weighs only 3.4 lbs, has a long battery life (6 hrs in total), integrated bar code reader and data security. Plus, it’s fully sealed for easy sanitization.

H1's touch screen and new keyboard feature is great

I provide numerous device demonstrations for the H1 to clients. The touch screen feature, plus Panasonic's onscreen keyboard appeals to clinicians who may be weary of the stylus pen and would rather use touch for point/click entries.

The new Panasonic onscreen keyboard is larger than the Windows input panel and with the touch screen - it can be used for lite text entry.

Both features are nice additions to the MCA family of solutions out there.
